Team back in the USA

All,
Thank you for the prayers. We arrived safely this morning just after midnight. The trip was awesome.

Our last busride from Andahuaylas took about 27 hours start to finish.

We will be posting more on here soon. We should have a bunch of pictures on the bethany site in a couple of weeks.

The team did great.

It was hard to leave our Peruvian partners. Many of them took off for the bus ride to their homes in Huanhavalica, Peru. The others in Lima are preparing to meet another team from California and head to the jungle.

Your prayers worked miracles.
Serving Him together,
Mike

MY post for you!!!!

hello all!!!!

today marks our last day in andahuaylas. its bittersweet, for sure. i will definitely miss these faces we´ve met here. so many memories and fun times. god has been so faithful for us in every way.

tomorrow we start our (second) 24-hour-trip back to lima. it´ll be crazy, i´m sure. but its all worth it. : )

i miss everyone and everything so much. life in andahuaylas has been fun and different. but i was talking to gretchen and becky today during our late lunch about the things we take for granted and miss. like eating meals on a table. haha. and brushing your teeth from the tap. and salads. and sandals. and the water always being hot when you turn it to hot. (...ya, some of those showers were a little unpredictable). haha. and dollars. and of course, not having to worry about becoming sick. i have to confess, i got my taste of ¨señor boom boom¨ myself....and no, i won´t go into detail about that! but everything has been truly an experience of a lifetime. i wish you all could have seen it, smelled it, tasted it, breathed it, slept it, experienced it for yourselves. see you all in a few more days. love you and dont forget to keep praying. we haven´t. : D

love,

Andahuaylas outreach over - day at the ruins

Thank you all for the great comments. We are blessed to receive them.

Yesterday was an awesome end to our children's outreaches. We went to 4 medium to small villages. We split into 4 teams to do this. We repeated the children's program from our first 2 outreaches. We were able to pass out many bags of hats, scarves, jackets, and sweaters that we bought with us.

The village I went to, Nueva Eperanza, was about 2 hours and 3,000 ft up from Andahuaylas. We had over 150 kids come out from a village of 1000. We were greeted by people from the town crying that they had prayed a group would come to their village. We filled a very small church. We were blessed with and excited group of kids and adults. Many dozen made commitments to Christ. After the outreach we were invited to dinner and asked to stay for many days to continue to preach. We had to turn down that offer. However, we were asked to pray over a dieing man, Victor. Also, a lady, Phyllis, with a brain tumor. The kids gave us a tour of their town, school.

Today we visited a high mountain lake and the ruins at Sondar. These were built by locals rebelling against the Incas. The were last inhabited in 700 AD. The were set in a beautiful hill deep in the Andes.

We are on a small break now. Tonight is our last in Andahuaylas. Tomorrow we take a 24 hour bus ride back to Lima.

Prayer needs...
Final night with our local hosts. Tonight is Communion.
Safe travel back to Lima
